Tuckasegee River
Jackson County, NC
The Tuckasegee River flows roughly 50 miles through Jackson County in Western North Carolina, with headwaters in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Cashiers and a course running past Dillsboro and Whittier before joining other waters of the region. Known locally as 'the Tuck,' its gentle Class I-II rapids make it one of the area's most popular rivers for tubing, family rafting, kayaking, and trout fishing.
