The Narrows

The Narrows of the Green is a steep, rugged section of the Green River gorge along the Henderson-Polk County line in western North Carolina. Fed by scheduled dam releases, it is one of the most demanding whitewater kayaking runs in the eastern United States, with class IV-V rapids and the annual Green Race held each November.
