Swiss Pine Lake

Mitchell County, NC

The North Toe River rises in the high country near the Avery County mountains and flows westward through Mitchell and Yancey counties, passing through Spruce Pine. It is one of the headwater streams of the Nolichucky River and is known regionally as a trout-fishing river.
