Stepps Gap
Yancey County, NC
Stepps Gap is a high mountain gap in the Black Mountains of Yancey County, sitting just south of Mount Mitchell at roughly 6,000 feet. It marks the southern entrance area of Mount Mitchell State Park, where the ranger station is located, and serves as a starting point for trails to the summit of the highest peak east of the Mississippi.
