Soco Gap

Soco Gap is a mountain pass on the boundary between Haywood and Jackson counties, situated at the edge of the Qualla Boundary near Maggie Valley and Cherokee. The gap separates the Plott Balsams from the Great Balsam Mountains and carries deep significance in Cherokee history. Nearby Soco Falls is a popular roadside stop for travelers crossing the pass.
