Santeetlah Lake

Graham County, NC

Lake Santeetlah is a large reservoir in Graham County, North Carolina, created in 1928 when the Cheoah River was dammed for hydroelectric power. Largely ringed by the Nantahala National Forest with a mostly undeveloped shoreline, it is a destination for boating, fishing, and swimming in the far western mountains.
