Purchase Knob is a high summit in Haywood County, North Carolina, within Great Smoky Mountains National Park, rising to roughly 4,900 feet. The surrounding land, donated to the park around 2000, is home to the Appalachian Highlands Science Learning Center, where students and researchers study the rich biodiversity of the southern Appalachians.
