Licklog Gap

Licklog Gap is a gap in Jackson County near the Blue Ridge Parkway, where the Mountains-to-Sea Trail passes through on its way toward Balsam. A short trail leads to an overlook of the surrounding rolling Balsam mountains; the name comes from old salt-lick logs once set out for grazing cattle.
