Kitsuma Peak sits in the Pisgah National Forest of McDowell County near Old Fort. It is best known for the Kitsuma Trail, a demanding mountain-biking and hiking route with switchback climbs, ridge views toward Mount Mitchell, and a long, fast descent toward the Old Fort picnic area.
