The Horsepasture River rises in Jackson County, North Carolina, and flows through the Jocassee Gorges toward Lake Jocassee in South Carolina. A designated National Wild and Scenic River, it is famous for a dense chain of waterfalls within Gorges State Park, including Rainbow Falls and Turtleback Falls.
