Gillespie Gap

McDowell County, NC

Gillespie Gap is a Blue Ridge crossing in McDowell County at the junction of the Blue Ridge Parkway and NC Highway 226. Historically significant as a route used by the Overmountain Men marching to the Battle of Kings Mountain during the Revolutionary War, it is now home to the Museum of North Carolina Minerals.
