Farlow Gap sits in the Pisgah National Forest in Transylvania County near Brevard. The Farlow Gap Trail that crosses it is well known among mountain bikers and hikers as one of the most rugged and technical routes in Pisgah, with steep, rocky, root-strewn terrain, stream crossings, and an old mica mine nearby.
