Bent Creek Experimental Forest

Buncombe County, NC

Bent Creek Experimental Forest is a nearly 6,000-acre federal research forest within the Pisgah National Forest in Buncombe County, about 15 minutes from downtown Asheville. It is a popular recreation destination with over 40 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, adjacent to the Lake Powhatan Recreation Area.
