Bearwallow Mountain Trail

Bearwallow Mountain Trail is a short, popular hike to a grassy bald summit on the western rim of the Hickory Nut Gorge near Gerton, in Buncombe County. The roughly one-mile climb, built by Conserving Carolina, ends at an open meadow with near-360-degree views where cattle often graze in summer.
