Balsam Lake is a small mountain lake in Jackson County, North Carolina, within the Roy Taylor Forest section of the Nantahala National Forest. The Forest Service recreation area offers trout fishing, non-motorized boating, a short hiking trail, fishing piers, and a picnic area, along with the rentable Balsam Lake Lodge. It is a quiet, family-friendly day-use spot in the western North Carolina mountains.
